Here the fantastical, amorphous figures take inspiration from the natural environment. Each assemblage blurs the figurative boundary between the imaginative and the organic world.

In these sculptural paper assemblages, I transformed the flattened 2-dimensional contours of larger drawings and paintings that I have created througout my career,  into figural objects that are equally familiar and disorienting. They are created from pieces of dismantled ‘successful’ paintings, recycled ‘failed’ paintings, and trimmings of still existing paintings. Playing with past works, allows me to privledge to return to the memories and places of times before, while recognizing how our memories often blur together - what is real? what is fictious? what is precious? what is now? what is next?

The assemblages are fantasies come to life: tokens of the natural world, deconstructed, reformatted, and presented in a new and intuitive perspective. I strive to evoke the vibrancy and wonder of being in and of the world simultaneously.
